Natalie Martinez Ms. Lehmann English 1-1A 27 February 2020 An Eventful Trip to Chicago It was a warm summer morning. I was on my way to Chicago.I was getting ready to go to sleep because I was going to stay up all night while my uncle wasdriving. I was about to fall asleep when I heard my aunt.“Oh my God!What was that?” I got up right away. “What happened?” I asked.“I saw something that looked like a bird but bigger, and it was running fast like a road runner,” she said.I got scared. I got over that, but I didn’t fall asleep after. My other uncle was still driving. All of a sudden, we saw a little bird.We were making jokes.“What if he ran it over?”We got to a gas station. We went inside, used the restroom, and got food. When we got to the car, a man came and knocked on the window.“There is a bird stuck in the front of your truck,” he said.We all looked at each other. Both of my uncles got out of the car to go see and take it off. After that, they got back into the car.“Well, that was awkward,” I told them. They started laughing because of the awkward situation we were in.After that, we went along with our trip. I was finally able to take a nap. When I woke up, we were at a gas, station getting gas and it was my other uncle’s turn to drive. That meant it was my turn to stay up.It was dark outside. I’m not going to lie, I was kind of scared, but then I got over it. A couple of hours went by, and my other uncle woke up and told me that I could go to sleep. He would stay up with my uncle. I feel asleep, and when I woke up, we were already in Illinois. It was raining and also a little bit cold. When we got there, my cousins and my aunt already had plans for the whole week we were going to be there. It was July 26, 2018.We were going to Six Flags. I was scared. I have never been on a rollercoaster before, and I'm also scared of heights, so that would be a problem. When we were in line for one of the roller coasters, I was scared. It would be my first time on a roller coaster, so I told my cousins,Yasmeen and Carmen, that it would be my first time on a roller coaster. They told me that for their first time on a roller coaster, they were scared, too, but it wasn’t that bad. They were right. It wasn’t that bad;it was actually fun, so I went on all the rides. After a fun day at Six Flags, we went to eat. When we got home, everyone was tired, so we got ready and went to bed.The next day, we really didn’t have anything planned until the afternoon. We went to a large building, 103 stories high, and the very top story had windows that stuck out. The bottom had clear glass, so I could step on it. I was scared because I thought I was going to fall, but it was worth it. I really liked it, but the next day, we went on a boat ride.It was fun. I got to see a lot of cool things, but then I had to go back home. I had a very fun and interestingtrip to Chicago.
